« Much more than an exhibition, it is the event not to be missed as soon as the galleries reopen! »

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the creation of his gallery in Paris, Thaddaeus Ropac is marking the occasion with an original exhibition in three parts. The first part opened on 6 December 2020, thirty years to the day after the inauguration of the first gallery in Paris in the Marais. It must be said that since then, it has been THE Parisian gallery par excellence, known throughout the world. For this event, no less than sixty artists will be exhibited. There are legendary artists such as Andy Warhol, Ilya and Emilia Kabakov, Sol LeWitt and Rosemarie Castoro. Alongside them are works by Tony Cragg, Sylvie Fleury and Yan Pei-Ming, for example. But that's not all! Important historical installations have been restored, including VALIE EXPORT's Geburtenbett [Birth Bed], which has never been shown in Paris before. Even new works have been created or chosen especially for the occasion, such as those by Alvaro Barrington, Elizabeth Peyton, Georg Baselitz... and many others! Thaddaeus Ropac pays tribute to Paris, a cosmopolitan city and a great source of inspiration for him and the artists he has represented for thirty years now. It is an unprecedented dialogue between works by artists from different generations, with diverse practices and mixed social backgrounds. An unprecedented and exceptional artistic corpus. What could be better after these six months cut off from art?
