The new hazardous hanging at the Xippas gallery appeals to... A priori, they are all square canvases, but in different formats. They are geometrical compositions with graphic lines. Simple artworks finally! Moreover, they have practically the same colors: blue, white, red and a yellow-green tennis ball. But what can they represent? If you look carefully, some compositions can make you think of buildings and even brand logos! They are actually cityscapes. Because indeed, Alain Biltereyst is walking around the city to capture the scenery. He reworks them to keep only the essential and manages to create a very minimalist vocabulary. His art turns to the discipline of graphic design for advertising displays, packaging and other street signs. However, this industrial aspect is erased since one does not immediately recognize what it is all about. Between the space of the street and that of the gallery, we pass from a banal image to an abstract work of art.
