« A dive into Anne Rearick's humanistic photography! A dive into Anne Rearick's humanistic photography!  »

Let's set the scene: small rural villages, the heat of summer, drive-ins, rodeo, the smell and sound of guns, the descent of the river on inner tubes, family discussions. It is in this atmosphere that Anne Rearick's photographic history is created. Born in 1960 in the United States, the photographer spent part of her childhood with her grandfather in Boise, Idaho, where her family had settled three generations earlier. "True West" is a long-term project that plunges us into this daily life, as far as its subjects allow. In a cinematographic style, Anne Rearick follows in the tradition of humanist documentary photographers such as Dorothea Lange or Diane Arbus. The work in black and white silver, the large and square 6x6 format of his Hasselblad camera which reproduces all the details, the background frame of a landscape... All these elements create a painting impossible to date, imbued with a permanent poetry with universal emotion. Anne Rearick's photographs will take you to Idaho as if you were there, accompanied by all the tenderness of her memories.
