Finally, a living French painter celebrated in Pompidou! In the pictorial universe (if, if, if the universe, please), Bernard Frize is a special artist. He has a very original approach to painting. What interests him is the technique, the gesture, more than the result or the effect produced. He paints lines, squares, rectangles in all their forms and series. With some sixty works presenting the multiple facets of his work (from yesterday to today), the exhibition takes you through the meanders of his work without direction or hierarchy, in a break with the serial approach that the artist has never stopped developing.
