Citéco - Cité de l'Économie
26 Sep → 24 Nov 2019
Tuesday to Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. Saturday until 7 pm. Closed Monday.
There are public institutions for which it is difficult or impossible to imagine that they have a museum. This is the case of the Banque de France, which this year opened Citéco, the museum of economics. For the first exhibition, Citéco is off to a strong start with "Born Somewhere", the exhibition on the sustainable economy of which you are the hero. Presented by the French Development Agency and the Ars Anima association, the exhibition offers an original adventure to highlight the challenges of climate and sustainable development in the world. Thus, this immersive exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to be propelled into the life of one of the 18 characters across 6 countries to live and understand through experience the daily challenges of climate and development that they face, and the solutions and projects that are available to them. Thus the interactive journey invites everyone to slip into the shoes of a character living in a developing geographical area (Asia, Africa, South America, Overseas France, etc.). For more than an hour, the visitor plays Tamatoa, a Polynesian fisherman from Fakarava committed against the disappearance of marine biodiversity; Manolo, a teenager living in a barrio in Medellin suffering from ultraviolence, or Nana, a young woman suffering from malnutrition in Niger. Thinking as a true invitation to travel, "Born Somewhere" encourages us to take a different look at the world, discover others and then build common projects.
