« Our eyes are riveted on them all day long, they are anchored in our hands and are part of our daily life. Have screens not become toxic tools?  »

Just as our world has become more and more connected over the last ten years, the creation of Champion Métadier revolves around digital photography. For the Musée des Arts et Métiers, the artist has been given carte blanche! The TOXICTOYS are three monumental sculptures created especially for the museum and presented in the permanent collection for the duration of the exhibition. Between art and technique, the TOXICTOYS definitely have their place in the Musée des Arts et Métiers! Both figurative and abstract, these compositions defy the law of gravity. They are lines, curves, graphic and architectural elements that articulate in space. They are imaginary, allegorical objects, diverted from their primary function to forms reminiscent of our telephones and other technological machines. These destructured sculptures seem unstable, as if levitating in a world that never stops moving. Champion Métadier reminds us that "creation must make us think about the complexity of the world and the complexity of our relationship with it". We are immersed in a complex universe that is nevertheless anchored in our own.
