« Offbeat language, surrealist universe, unbridled imagination. We love it!  »

An offbeat exhibition that offers a crossover and iconoclastic vision of two artists' careers. One is a painter, sculptor and engraver, creator of a colourful work, both joyful and fantastic, in which he uses almost all techniques. The other is a writer and filmmaker, author of essays and some fifteen films in which he has endeavoured to question the flaws, the disturbances of the senses, the singular stories. For more than thirty years, Olivier and Quentin Smolders have been working on joint projects. Through films, books and exhibitions, they have shared their passion for images, unusual stories, fantasy stories, curiosity cabinets and eccentric literature. This exhibition is a whole. It is first of all "Adoration", a film inspired by the true story of a murder; it is then the collection of objects found and recovered along the way; but it is also a journey that the filmmaker takes into the imaginary or real territories that have nourished his work. Thus, the ten or so entries that reveal the two artists' obsessions introduce us to their eclectic work, which responds to and complements each other.
