Waiting is all we've been doing for a year: waiting for the end of this epidemic; waiting for museums to reopen; waiting for a normal life to finally resume! Colombian artist Diana Velasquez has decided to express her despair in the face of this situation through an installation of 10 canvases measuring 5m high by 2m wide, presented on the columns of the façade of the Grand Palais. It depicts elderly people waiting patiently, the distance between the columns being perfect to respect safety distances. We don't really know what they are waiting for but we can imagine it: the vaccine? the entrance to the supermarket? the visit of their family? death? Between loneliness and uncertainty, the elderly were the first to be affected by the epidemic. A committed work that makes us think... Head to Churchill Avenue to begin your outdoor art tour! Just go to the Champs-Elysees gardens to continue it and see Jeff Koons' tulips. Without forgetting the Parc de la Villette, the Tuileries Gardens, the main courtyard of the Palais Royal, the Luxembourg Gardens... So many places in Paris that allow us to keep in touch with art, for our greatest pleasure!
