« As part of the Africa2020 Season, events in France and Europe are multiplying. This exhibition is one of them!  »

From June 4th and for five weeks, the Friche la Belle de Mai will host Here Comes Africa, an artist residency programme in association with numerous African partners. As part of this event, the creations of international artist Emeka Ogboh will invade the spaces of the Friche, for his first solo exhibition in France. Visual, sensory, gustatory, musical and political, these works question the links established following the passage of many people between West Africa and Marseille. A rereading of the history of migration in the city of Marseilles which at the same time questions the current flows of movement. The scenography imagined by Clémence Farrell is a real multi-sensory journey that will take you across the Mediterranean. La Friche is transformed into a place of encounters, but also of discovery, relaxation and sharing. In short, a place of life that challenges the exhibition spaces to stir the spirits. On the roof terrace of La Friche, a summer-long project was set up: dinners with Nigerian or Beninese chefs, where you could design your own beer while listening to music or reading a recipe book published especially for the occasion. La Friche, which has never been so welcoming, is the place to be this summer in Marseille!
