« A collective exhibition with a common goal: to make the invisible visible. »

In Pliny the Elder's Natural History, the daughter of the potter Dibutades tries to capture the image of her lover by transferring the outline of his shadow against a wall in black stone. This story, known to all, reflects the impossibility of freezing a figure. Yet the figure is what allows the soul to become incarnate, it is what separates the inner world from the outer. For this exhibition at Galerie Catherine Issert, you will find works by Jean-Michel Albérola, Jean-Charles Blais, Denis Castellas, Jennifer Douzenel, Alexandre Dufaye, Gautier Ferrero, Shengqi Kong, Marine Wallon and Ouattara Watts. Artists who have tried to capture the soul, to make it appear physically. A discreet shadow that takes up the story told by Pliny, an elusive silhouette, a thin red border... The figure is embodied in various ways through new works.
