Whether in Japan, Mongolian India or China, nature is at the heart of cultures. The art of gardening in Asia is an ancestral practice aiming at total harmony in order to be "one with the sky". This idealization of nature has given rise to numerous creations and representations of all kinds. For this exhibition, nearly 80 works from the Musée Guimet's collections are presented: Indian miniatures, prints, photographs, textiles and ceramics represent the cultural, stylistic and climatic diversity of the various green spaces throughout Asia. Discover what princely or imperial gardens, Buddhist temple gardens, Confucian scholar's gardens and tea gardens looked like and how they have evolved over time.
