Under Monet's ponds and water lilies is hidden a funny video... For the fifth edition of Counterpoint of the Orangery Museum, the Brazilian Janaïna Tschäpe has taken over the basement! The artist is a video maker, a draughtswoman, a painter and even a performance artist. Her work may be eclectic, but it remains close to nature. Let yourself be bewitched by an organic and colourful universe with "Blood, Sea". Like Claude Monet, Janaïna Tschäpe loves nature, its transformation and its elusiveness. The artist says she is very close to the canvas: "I could never explain to anyone this intimate dialogue with the canvas. My painting does not derive from images. It arises from my observations, which can be observations of nature as well as those of my imagination; the two go hand in hand in my opinion".
