Jean-Christophe Norman is a multifaceted artist whose work is based on repetition, walking, both mental and physical, and writing. His artistic practice is mainly based on the latter, even if his means of expression often diverge: wandering, covering a text or completely rewriting it. In fact, he has completely transcribed James Joyce's Ulysses in chalk on the ground in cities around the world. In doing so, he manages to create new spaces and enhance the experience of this creation. For this monographic exhibition, Jean-Christophe Norman presents large works, composed of small formats, and places the pictorial nature of the book at the centre. The whole forms a literary and linear landscape unseen in the artist's career! Books covered in ink and graphite, documents from the project and a film will also be presented.
