What is Labo_Demo? Launched by the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles, the second edition of this event is an opportunity to discover young talents in contemporary creation! Léa De Cacqueray-Valmenier, Madeleine Calafell, Sacha Cambier De Montravel, Ymane Chabi Gara, Agathe Duperou, Pauline François, Harold Lechien, Alice Pandolfo and Triovisible are all students of the Écoles nationales supérieures des Beaux-Arts de Paris et des arts visuels de La Cambre. At the CWB, these schools join forces to promote emerging artists from their courses and to highlight the quality of their teaching.With two works by each artist, Labo_Demo shows a plethora of approaches: organic sculptures by Madeleine Calafell; brightly coloured paintings by Ymane Chabi Gara, who offers a feminine version of Hikikomori, these young Japanese men who are isolated in their rooms; a performance by Triovisible playing on the invisible and colour; and Harold Lechien's intriguing installation based on perfused egg shells. An opportunity to discover identities and visual universes, the beginnings of which can be spotted!
