Do you know the work of Miguel Chevalier, this French artist, pioneer of virtual art. If you have never seen his monumental installations or his digital works, this is your opportunity to visit the Espace Art absolument which presents works representative of his work. You will see his latest research on the theme of snow crystals. The exhibition is in line with an approach initiated at the end of the 90s, which is based on the observation of nature and its imaginary transposition into the digital universe. The artist has always admired in winter the beauty, geometry, complexity and richness of snowflakes, which are never identical. Using digital tools and techniques, Miguel Chevalier multiplies these extraordinary crystalline forms. Thus, virtual snowflakes appear on an 82-inch LCD screen arranged vertically, born of computer software designed with the collaboration of Cyrille Henry. Coloured luminescent crystals, magnified a hundred times, appear randomly, spin slowly, before disappearing. Composed of multiple crystalline ramifications, they present an infinity of variations. The fractal structure of the flakes is revealed here through the prism of the digital. Suspended in space, other crystal sculptures made by 3D printing or laser cutting offer their fluorescent colours to a more aerial vision.
