Museum of Decorative Arts
19 May → 3 Oct 2021
Tuesday to Sunday from 11 am to 6 pm. Nocturnal Thursday until 9 pm. Closed Monday.
It was on the occasion of the publication (at last!) of the second volume of their monograph that the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and the Musée d'Orsay decided to give carte blanche to the M/M duo. In their respective permanent galleries, this double exhibition on either side of the Seine invites us to discover the original artistic practices of the artist-designers. Michael Amzalag and Mathias Augustyniak have been working together for 30 years, and 25 years they have been collaborating with fashion designers, perfumers, scientists, musicians, singers, photographers, journalists, writers, artists, architects, art schools, directors, actors and even a chef. When they undertake a project, their work is total: an entire universe is formed in the space invested, from furniture to simple posters. Their odd compositions are nevertheless to be understood as a whole, as an infinite imaginary world in constant evolution, between reality and their own vision of the world. From one museum to another, let yourself be transported to the very original universe of M/M.
