If you don't know them yet, it's time to go to the Maison Européenne de la Photographie! Daido Moriyama and Shomei Tomatsu are the two masters of contemporary Japanese photography. This exhibition was conceived by them shortly before Tomatsu's death in 2012. For their first artistic collaboration, the two photographers celebrate their city through fantastic pictures. "Tokyo" is an historic project that has never been seen since... It is also the first time that some of Shomei Tomatsu's works has been shown in Paris. It was about time! For the MEP, the project was conceived by Simon Baker, Pascal Hoël and Frédérique Dolivet with the help of Daido Moriyama himself, Mrs Yasuko Tomatsu and Akio Nagasawa, the famous Japanese gallery owner. A Japanese-French collaboration for an exceptional project filled with photographs more beautiful than the last. Nearly 300 works, some of them unpublished, are displayed on the two main floors of the MEP, the first floor being dedicated to Smaïl Kanouté. Discover the exhibition "Yasuke Kurosan, the black samurai in Japan" on Pablo as well!
