Big or small, fast or slow, light or dark: understanding the world also means learning to recognize opposites. So that your children can get to grips with the world of contrasts and opposites, take these curious little ones - from 2 to 7 years old - for a walk in the unusual village offered by the Cité des Sciences! They will pass through a strange school where nothing goes right, walk in the heart of a park upside down in the sky, examine the light and colours in a house, before being either a giant or a lilliputian in a street with changing dimensions. Games, manipulations, films and interactive activities mobilize the body and mind on different levels. These notions, essential to their understanding of the world, teach them to structure their perceptions and the language that accompanies them. They help develop their sense of nuances, of the relativity of tastes and experiences. Here, accompanied by adults in this discovery, the children soon add to their ability to construct categories, to question their contours.
