« An exhibition full of poetry, beautiful surprises and works of great delicacy that shows that Picasso was also a great poet!  »

You all know the work of Picasso, paintings, sculptures or ceramics. But maybe less his poems? The Picasso Museum has decided to explore this little-known aspect of Pablo Picasso's work by showing the importance of poetic writing in his creative process, focusing on the 350 or so poems the painter wrote. The exhibition offers a journey through many of the artist's handwritten poems, confronting them with the drawings and paintings that are contemporary to them. It shows the correspondences and passages between texts and paintings and the extraordinary inventiveness of the poet Picasso, who handles language as freely as any other medium. The exhibition is realized in partnership with the Museu Picasso in Barcelona, where it was presented from November 7, 2019 to February 23, 2020.
