On the occasion of Raymond Cauchetier's centenary, the gallery de l'Instant exhibits his most original pictures! War reporter in the 50s, Raymond Cauchetier is mainly known for having photographed the greatest names of the New Wave. He became a set photographer in 1959 alongside Jean-Luc Godard during the shooting of the film "À bout de souffle". For about ten years, he witnessed the creation of auteur cinema. Pure and luminous, his photos are real archives of shooting: "Jules and Jim", "Lola", "A woman is a woman", "La Peau Douce", "Baisers volés", "La Baie des Anges"... The photographer becomes close to the directors and actors. Among them, the explosive duo Godard-Truffaut but also Jean-Paul Belmondo, Jean Seberg or Jeanne Moreau. These young artists, who have become idols, are immortalized by Raymond Cauchetier's eye through pictures where the freshness and freedom of a bygone youth dominate.
