For the first time, the ETC gallery presents the works of René Guiffrey. This is an opportunity to discover a multidisciplinary artist whose work revolves around materials. René Guiffrey doesn't paint, he doesn't sculpt, he doesn't install... But he likes to work with glass and its transparency, its whiteness, its matt or shiny aspect. The same possibilities of transformation that he finds in paper! Here, the pieces presented are a mixture of glass and paper hung on the gallery walls. Is this a direct reference to Malevich's White on White Square, reinterpreted endlessly? Is it a reference to the Suprematist movement? What is certain, in any case, is that these are works that are off the beaten track. They are surprising and arouse a particular emotion with each encounter. It is as if the mirror, often present in his compositions, allows the reflection of the artist's portrait as well as that of the viewer and finally of the environment that surrounds him.
