From Tuesday to Saturday from 11 am to 7 pm. Closed Sunday & Monday.
For his second solo exhibition at the RX gallery, Samuel Rousseau presents these last 8 works in an original way! The artist from Marseille is mainly known for the use of digital art in his work. If these means of expression are varied, Samuel Rousseau always questions humanity and the problems that arise from it: injustice, overexposure to images, patriarchy... In an always very poetic way, he depicts a critical image of the world and of today's society. But what kind of world is it? Imaginary or real, we don't really know. Here, the artist merges photography and video to take us to the stars! For they might hold the answers to the mysterious origins of life. The artist sees in the cosmos a molecular micmac that could help us understand the why of the how. Like many other people, scientists and artists, he calls it "the cosmic soup". In the end, this exhibition is just an extension of his work in general. As in the cosmos where everything is mixed, Samuel Rousseau's work is the result of a fusion between several mediums that become one. The use of physical materials anchors the works in our reality; the temporal loops found in many of them detach them from it. An exhibition that encourages reflection on humankind and society today. Not to be missed!
