Château Borély - Museum of Decorative Arts, Earthenware and Fashion
12 Jun → 7 Nov 2021
Every day from 9am to 6pm. Closed on Mondays and public holidays.
This exhibition was specially created for the Château Borély, in cooperation with the International Research Centre for Glass and Plastic Arts (Cirva) and the Villa Noailles. It features emerging talents, the last ten winners of the Grand Prix de Design Parade Hyères, specially brought together for the occasion. Jean-Baptiste Fastrez, Brynjar Sigurðarson, Julie Richoz, Mathieu Peyroulet Ghilini, Laura Couto, Rosado, Samy Rio, Pernelle Poyet, Carolien Niebling, Sara de Campos and Grégory Granados have reworked glass, an age-old craft technique. But it is above all around one object that the artists have concentrated: the vase. Throughout the exhibition, discover the research process of these young creators, inspired by the 18th century neoclassical castle. A unique dialogue between two eras that celebrates this new generation of designers and the Marseille region. For the 26th edition of Ciné Plein Air Marseille and in parallel with this exhibition, film screenings will take place at the Château Borély. (Re)See "Last Year at Marienbad" by Alain Resnais (1961) on Friday 13 August and "Matrix" by Wachowski (1999) on Saturday 14 August. These films are free and open to all. Summer will be cultural in Marseille!
