« The eac. is celebrating its 30th+1st birthday! A great opportunity to discover a nice panorama of the French artistic scene  »

The Espace d'art concret in Mouans is celebrating its 30th + 1 year. Due to the confinement in 2020, the institution did not fully celebrate this anniversary. It is making up for it this summer with an exhibition built with the ADIAF. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Marcel Duchamp Prize, the eac. has been invited by the ADIAF to join in the celebration of this event which will bring together throughout France more than a dozen events and exhibitions through the networks of the Frac and the art centres. In 1994, Gilles Fuchs created the ADIAF - Association pour la diffusion internationale de l'art français - with the ambition to act for the international influence of the French art scene. Accompanied by patrons and working in close partnership with public institutions, the ADIAF, which has been chaired since 2021 by Claude Bonnin, today mobilises 350 collectors of contemporary art. Created in 2000 by the ADIAF and organised with the support of the Centre Pompidou, the Marcel Duchamp Prize aims to highlight the creative abundance of the French art scene at the beginning of the 21st century, and to support artists in their international careers. Each year, this collectors' prize is awarded to one of four French artists or artists living in France, working in the field of plastic and visual arts: installation, video, painting, photography, sculpture, performance. At the EAC, you will be able to see emblematic works by artists who are just as fascinating, including: Kader Attia, Yto Barrada, Michel Blazy, Latifa Echakhch, Joana Hadjithomas and Khalil Joreige, Philippe Ramette, Enrique Ramirez, Zineb Sedira. In any case, we love it! The exhibition will be built around the notion of the Mediterranean, the one we fantasize about and which is anchored in the great myths of our origins, but also the one that is lived in everyday life, far from the images of postcards, in the cruelty of our world today. The exhibition will take place on level -1 of the Albers-Honegger Donation and will be accompanied by a rich outdoor video programme in the castle grounds during the summer of 2021.
