Robert Wilson is an internationally renowned director, stage architect, designer, choreographer, curator, visual artist and lighting artist. Der Messias is an oratorio by Georg Friedrich Handel adapted by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The American Robert Wilson decided to modernize it, without changing the original text but adding his personal touch in the staging. On this occasion, he exhibits at the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery his own drawings made during the rehearsals of the requiem, in order to illustrate the lyrical work of the 18th century. These drawings are not intended to highlight his work as a director, they are not archives. This is a purely artistic approach which consists in putting the power of music on paper.
