« A successful 10th exhibition, demanding in a clear and sober path!  »

Initially scheduled for March 2020, the new exhibition of the Mac-Val's collection is finally unveiled, and the pleasure of discovering the institution's new acquisitions. This exhibition, entitled "The Wind is Rising", focuses on the relationship that humanity has with its planet, a relationship that is complex, ambivalent, sometimes cruel and sometimes hopeful. This is a very topical theme at the moment, but one that expresses the concerns of artists in particular and the cultural world in general. Through new acquisitions of works that are particularly in touch with the world today, and in echo to older ones that reflect this longstanding thought, the public can consider the different views, whether filled with wonder, concern or awareness, that artists have of the world. Curated by Alexia Fabre, Anne-Laure Flacelière et Ingrid Jurzak, the exhibition presents the richness of its collections with artists from the past and the present, including Boris Achour, Dove Allouche, Pierre Ardouvin, Bianca Argimon, Hicham Berrada, Michel Blazy, Christian Boltanski, Véronique Boudier, Charlotte Charbonnel, Ali Cherri, Clément Cogitore, Émile Compard, Julien Discrit, David Douard, Jean Dubuffet, Anne-Charlotte Finel, Nicolas Floc'h, franckDavid, Charles Fréger, José Gamarra, Lola Gonzàlez, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Ange Leccia, Joana Hadjithomas & Khalil Joreige, Benoît Maire, or Pierre Malphettes, Didier Marcel and Angelika Markul. An impressive collection, isn't it? In order to consider this acceleration of time, from the long time of geology to today's chemical time, when human action generates the precipitation of climatic reactions, we follow, like a thread, the question of walking. Paintings, photographs, films and installations lead you to think about our relationship with the Earth, the one we walk on and the one we transform. Reservation & tickets on site
