Do you like the Gautier exhibition, the Chanel exhibition, do you like exuberant designers and their indomitable creations? Then you will love the one dedicated to Thierry Mugler. After Canada, the Netherlands and Germany, it is the turn of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris to host the exhibition "Thierry Mugler: couturissime". Conceived, produced and organized by the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA), this large-scale exhibition retraces the work of the designer with a singular imagination who revolutionized fashion, haute couture and perfume. In collaboration with the House of Mugler, which has restored the Couture and ready-to-wear heritage presented, this Parisian stage marks the return of a visionary artist, photographer, perfume inventor and director, to the city where he enjoyed all his successes. This exhibition gives us an overview of the career of a brilliant designer, an absolute icon in the fashion world. Silhouettes and accessories from ready-to-wear and haute couture, stage costumes, photographs, videos and unpublished archives from 1973 to 2014 trace the fascinating world of the designer, as well as his many artistic collaborations in the fields of entertainment, music and film. Originally scheduled for October 2020, the exhibition has been postponed to 30 September 2021 and 24 April 2022.
