Do you know that the Moulin family, owner of Galeries Lafayette, is an important collection of contemporary art. For the first time, part of the collection, the fruit of a passion cultivated over several generations, is on display at the Musée d'Art Moderne in Paris, which presents a selection of some fifty works by selected contemporary French and international artists. The Lafayette Anticipations collection now includes more than 300 pieces. The exhibition will be an opportunity for a donation to the Museum of Modern Art. Designed around works and installations acquired by the fund since 2005 that integrate sculpture, video, or performance, the exhibition presents an overview of the latest developments in art and reflects the ability of artists to question and decipher our changing world. Placed under the curatorial direction of Anne Dressen, the exhibition offers a reflection on the notions of proximity, sharing, and especially dialogue, of the way in which works exchange with the public, respond to each other, but also transform each other by rubbing shoulders. Spectacular pieces alternate with more sensitive ones, sometimes at the limit of perceptible, evoking vision, hearing, smell, but also the imagination of science and fiction. In this way, she creates a panorama where the senses and intellect are stimulated.
